About BEE Refresher Course for EA EM : Phase IV
As mandated within the Energy Conservation Act, 2001, the certificate for certified Energy Auditors & Energy Managers may be renewed every 5 years by attending a mandatory refresher training course conducted by a BEE-designated agency. The main objective of this course is to update these energy managers about the latest technologies for energy management while implementing energy norms and standards.
GreenTree is an official agency designated for organizing the Phase IV Refresher Course. We have successfully facilitated this training program for the past 3 years.
The topics covered in the refresher course are in line with the requirements of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and include input from various industry experts. The course material has been prepared after taking into account the latest developments and advancements such as renewable energy, smart grids, smart cities, ISO 50001, measurement & verification, carbon footprints, energy-efficient buildings, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Certified Energy Auditors and Energy Managers who
- Passed their EA/EM exams in 2019
- Or completed the refresher program before 2019
Steps for the Refresher Course Process
Check if you need to get recertified as a Certified EA EM
If you passed your EA EM Exam in 2019 or earlier and have not attended a refresher course program after 2019, you are eligible to attend this program

Fill out the registration form and pay the refresher course fees
Choose your preferred workshop
Once the payment confirmation is received, you will be able to choose your preferred workshop location and date from the next set of planned workshops. The workshops will be conducted in various cities across India.
Attend the 2 day workshop sessions
Participate in the mandatory 2-day workshop conducted by industry experts. You can download the reference course material for the same at any point from here.
Complete the assessment on day 2 of the workshop
This simple 1 hr assessment is the final requirement in the recertification process.
Renew your EA EM certificate
You will receive a participation certificate from GreenTree after the workshop on email within the next few days. Request an updated certificate from BEE.
